What is this?
The ITS Department is responsible for, and handles all, lab/classroom software and equipment for the campus. Departments are not allowed to use outside vendors to obtain their own equipment or software. Coordinating your equipment needs with ITS will allow for:
- Consistent equipment standards across campus
- Guarantees any software works correctly in our lab/classroom environment
- Better pricing as we might be able to connect your work with another project going on across campus
- Timely execution of the project
When you submit your request, ITS will work with you to find out what your needs are, and offer the best way to achieve it. In addition, ITS will asses the scope of the needs and determine if it can be handled "in house" by ITS, or if we will need to engage a vendor partner to carry out the work. If ITS needs to engage an outside vendor to complete the work, we will advise you of the cost of the project and seek your approval before starting any work.
When should I use?
When you wish for new software or hardware to be installed on campus in a lab, classroom, or events space.
When should I not use this?
You should not use this service to report a problem with existing lab classroom equipment/software, or to request equipment/software outside of a lab or classroom.
