Cable Television Incident - Repair Connection

Overview

Use this service to report issues with your cable TV connection that aren't related to the jack.

Some important things to note about the Carroll television service offered in the residence halls:

  1. Your TV must support Clear QAM.  This can be found in your owner's manual or guide and might also be referred to as a "QAM Tuner".
  2. You will likely need to force your TV to re-scan for channels once you connect it.  The procedure to do this varies by TV make and manufacturer, and directions can be found online or in your owner's guide.  The TV mode should be set to "Cable TV" prior to the channel scan, not "Over the Air" or "Antenna."
  3. A complete guide of TV channels can be found on the OIT department page on the my.carrollu.edu portal under Resources and then Residence Halls.

If your TV does not support QAM/Clear QAM tuning, you will need to purchase a QAM Tuner. OIT has tested and verified that the iView 3200STB (Available from Amazon) is compatible with our new TV system for watching live TV. The scheduled recording function that is advertised with the box WILL NOT WORK nor will the onscreen guide, and this is expected behavior.
