Should you ever forget your Carroll password, you can contact the OIT Help Desk for assistance in getting a new one. The Help Desk will need to confirm your identity and will then provide you with a randomly generated new password. The Help Desk can be reached by calling 262-524-7229. Password resets can not be done over email - Over the phone or in person only.

Currently, the password associated with your Carroll email account is set to never expire. The complexity requirements for your password can be found below.

  • It must be at least fourteen (14) characters long
  • It cannot have any spaces
  • It cannot contain any part of your name
  • It must contain at least three (3) of the following:
    1. A number (0-9)
    2. A lower-case letter
    3. An upper-case letter
    4. A special character (such as $,?, or #)

Here are some tips for creating a strong password:

  1. It is recommended that you refrain from adding personal information such as a birthday, phone number, address, etc. to your passwords as those will be easier for others to guess.
  2. Use different passwords for each of your accounts. Reusing passwords across multiple accounts increases the risk if one account becomes compromised.
  3. Consider using a passphrase instead of a single word. A passphrase is a sentence or combination of words that is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. For example, "IncorrectBuffaloBatteryStapler" is a strong passphrase.
  4. Avoid using common and easily guessable passwords such as "123456," "password," or "qwerty." Hackers often use lists of common passwords when attempting to break into accounts.
  5. Avoid using common dictionary words, as these can be easily cracked by password-guessing programs. If you prefer using a word, consider misspelling it or substituting letters with numbers or symbols.
